During the first two meetings, the Daisies will be learning about what Girl Scouts are and what Daisies are. They will also be working on earning their Promise Center (the blue center patch for their smocks). To do this, they will need to learn the Girl Scout Promise:
On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
I know that for some this promise might need some extra explanations, and I encourage you to talk with your daughters about it and to help them start memorizing it now, if possible.
We have our own family interpretation of the line "To serve God and my country," and I will try not to spend too much time with these 4 and 5 year olds interpreting what it means to them. If you have any strong feelings, please let me know so I can try to take them into consideration.
